TAURUS SEASON 2026

A Seasonal, Collective Forecast for Meadowlark
By Claire Morrison

Not the Taurus Season You Were Expecting
Taurus season begins on the 20th of April and if you don’t feel the shift, you haven't imagined it. The Aries pile-up is still active as the Sun crosses into this earth sign: Saturn, Mars, Mercury, and Neptune are all crowded in Aries until the 3rd of May, bringing heat and intensity into what is usually a slow, sensory, pleasurable stretch. This is not the Taurus season to expect ease from the outset. You will get a breather - I promise! - by the end of the season.
This is the astrology of 2026 in miniature. The invitation is the same one we keep receiving: hold on through the intensity, and savour the calm when it arrives. Nothing lasts forever.

Early Season: Fire in the Earth Sign’s House
20th April – End of April

The concentration in Aries pressing into Taurus season means the initial weeks carry a pressurised quality. Saturn’s presence in that mix is significant. It doesn’t extinguish the Aries fire, but contains it, which means energy encounters friction and restriction rather than moving freely. Expect frustration and delays.
Mercury in this configuration can bring public conflict and sharp, combative words, including a connection to Pluto that sharpens ideas and gives them force. The upside of Mercury-Pluto is penetrating clarity. The downside is that the same clarity can arrive in a destructive form, as a no when you were expecting a yes, or as a truth you were not quite ready to hear.

The practical guidance here is genuinely important: do not try to endure this period through sheer grit. Work in focused, short bursts. Take breaks (proper ones!). Just like towards the end of Aries season, the energy available is potent but volatile, and pushing through without rest tends to produce burnout rather than results.
On the 23rd of April, Venus and Uranus come together in Taurus. This is a meeting that will not happen again in Taurus until 2102. Venus and Uranus come together at the very end of this sign, and it feels like a significant close to a longer chapter. Uranus has been moving through Taurus since 2018, shaking up everything that Taurus rules: money, land, food, the body, what we value and how we hold it. This final meeting is a punctuation mark on these themes.

Economically, disruption to markets, currencies, or the value of material things is possible. More personally: where have you been freed from something you were previously attached to? What does security actually mean to you now, compared to eight years ago? Think back to July 2025. Did something shift in your finances or your relationships then? Uranus was active in a similar way at that point. Whatever was seeded there may be completing a cycle now. Uranus is not here to destabilise for its own sake. It is attempting to liberate, to redirect us toward what is genuinely ours rather than what we have been told to want.

The day after that historic meeting, Venus moves into Gemini and the atmosphere lightens. Gemini Venus is flirty, curious and socially alive. She is witty, interested in everyone, and at her best she makes every conversation feel like the most interesting one in the room. If you have strong Gemini placements in your chart, this transit brings genuine ease and beauty to how you move through the world. For everyone else, it is simply a welcome loosening after the tension of the weeks prior.
The 25th carries a lot. The Sun has settled into Taurus by now, asking the essential Taurus question: do I have the resources, internally and externally, to do what I want to do?

At the same time, Pluto in Aquarius squares off with both the Sun and Uranus as Uranus takes its first steps into Gemini. This is a historic shift. Uranus in Gemini will shape the next seven years of how we communicate, learn, move information, and relate to ideas. The energy around this movement is liberating and disruptive in equal measure. This disruption may take place in the realms of communication, technology, and social connection.

On the 26th of April, Mercury is relating with Jupiter from Aries into Cancer, it is tense but productive. Jupiter in Cancer is emotional, intuitive, nourishing. Mercury in Aries wants to be direct and immediate. What is inspiring you right now? Where are new ideas bumping up against older, more emotionally rooted ones? This planetary connection is dynamic, which often results in change. The friction can produce something real if you stay open rather than defensive.

By the 28th of April, Venus and Pluto flow together to allow for depth in connection, in values, and in communication. Conversations go somewhere real. Partnerships that are already strong become more so. Are your values and your actual behaviour in harmony? The invitation is not self-criticism but alignment. Try to create some synergy between where you say you stand and where you actually put your energy.

Into May: Watching Things Burn
As we move into May, we are watching the aftermath of a very active late April. Collectively and personally, May asks us to deal with the fallout, to assess what has changed and to seek stability.

The bigger lunation picture adds to this. The new moon in Aries that fell in mid-April, was ruled by Mars. The full moon in Scorpio arrives on the 2nd of May, also traditionally ruled by Mars. There is an unusual amount of Martian energy running through this entire Taurus season, pulling against Taurus’s natural instinct to slow down and consolidate. With Pluto into the mix, this Scorpio full moon is bound to illuminate themes of power and control. A Taurus-Scorpio connection is often about these questions: who holds the resources, who holds the power, and what do we do when those two things are in conflict?

On the 3rd of May, Mars in Aries connects with Jupiter in Cancer, initiating energy in different directions. Mars wants action, forward motion. Jupiter in Cancer wants peace, home, and nourishment. There is tension between those impulses, and collectively it may surface as conflicting drives between war and peace.
On the same day, Mercury enters Taurus. After all the Aries heat, this is a welcome shift in how we think and communicate. A Taurus Mercury is unhurried, thorough, and careful. Ideas are considered before being expressed. It is practical and grounded, and serves well in the weeks ahead. By the 5th, Mercury gives the side eye to Pluto, giving those carefully considered thoughts some weight and pressure.

The Sun in Taurus connects with Jupiter in Cancer on the 11th. It shines a light on peace, on love, on nurturing. On the things that actually sustain life rather than drive it. Mercury follows shortly after, reinforcing these themes in conversation and ideas. If you can arrange your days around the 11th to allow for slowness and warmth, do it.
The Mercury cazimi on the 14th is the meeting of Mercury and the Sun, producing some of the sharpest, clearest thinking available this month. In Taurus, the quality of this is grounded, practical, aligned with what is real and tangible. Ideas that arrive around this time are worth writing down. They’re likely to have staying power.
The New Moon in Taurus on the 17th of May is the reset this season has been building toward. The new moon meets with Mercury, as well as a connection to Jupiter in Cancer. After everything that has preceded it, it feels like a breath of fresh air. Thematically, it's about nature, the body, the things and people we love. Ideas land gently. There is room for hope and inspiration.

Alongside this new moon, Mars and Chiron meet and connect with Venus in Gemini. This has the potential for healing but it requires effort, perhaps through conversation. Something that has been raw or tender, particularly around how we act and what we fight for, has an opportunity to find some tenderness.

As the season draws to a close, the energy shifts dramatically. Mars leaves Aries and enters Taurus at the same time as Venus moves into Cancer, in connection to each other as they do so. The pace drops. There is a quality of respite here, of being allowed to tend to things rather than fight for them. Mars in Taurus moves slowly and with deep intention. Venus in Cancer turns toward home, toward the people she loves, toward genuine nourishment.

Mercury in Gemini flows with Pluto and Neptune around this time, adding a quality of inspired, effective thinking. Problems that felt impossible to solve earlier in the season may suddenly have solutions. This is the relief we have been working toward: the ability to think clearly and act gently.

A Final Note: What Taurus is Asking
Taurus knows that rest is not the opposite of productivity. It is the condition for it. A season that began with fiery pressure has been asking, all along, whether you can trust the earth to hold you when things get difficult. Whether you can find stillness inside instability. Whether the things you value are actually reflected in how you spend your time and energy.

By the time Mars and Venus shift signs in late May, there should be something quieter available.
