A Seasonal, Collective Forecast for Meadowlark
By Claire Morrison
Coming out of a fiery, dramatic Leo season, how does it feel to land in Virgo? After weeks of performance and passion, Virgo season feels quieter and more considered. It asks us to get grounded, sort what's useful from what isn't, and do something practical with all that Leo inspiration.
Mercury and Venus are both busy this season. Mercury is playing messenger, carrying news and conversations through several signs. Venus is smoothing things over and looking for harmony wherever she can find it.

23rd August
The Sun moves into Virgo
The Sun enters Virgo the day after meeting the South Node in Leo, so this shift may feel grounding, even humbling. Something familiar might resurface, and egos (yours or someone else's) may feel a little fragile as the spotlight moves on. This is a moment to find out if you have the skills to sustain the shine, now that Leo's stage lights are dimming and Virgo wants proof of the work behind it.
Mercury too meets the South Node at the very end of Leo on the 25th of August, then moves into Virgo. Expect communication to start out a little dramatic or overblown before it gets edited down into something more exact. Mercury is only in Virgo until the 10th of September, so make use of this short window of precise, practical communication and way of thinking.
On the 27th of August, Mercury sits so close to the Sun in what’s known as a cazimi, meaning it's at its clearest and most illuminated. Normally this would be an excellent day for launches or important conversations that need clarity. This time, though, it's followed almost immediately by an eclipse, so treat it as a moment of insight rather than a green light to act.
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (28th August, 4:18pm NZT)
This is the second eclipse in two weeks, bringing the eclipse season to a close. It’s a good time to take stock. What has come up for you over the past two weeks? Any sudden shifts or changes?
For this eclipse, there's a building tension with Uranus in the background, and the Sun and Mercury in Virgo square off with Uranus in Gemini on the same day, which means this could be a very destabilising point in the month.
Pisces is intuitive, Virgo is logical, and Uranus is unpredictable, so this eclipse can throw a curveball into whatever felt settled the day before. Rather than trying to force clarity, let destiny do some of the driving. Ask yourself what actually aligns with your beliefs right now, and let that be your compass. Once this one passes, you can have a big exhale, at least until the next eclipse in the cycle.
We’ll go into what this eclipse means for you personally further down.
Jupiter & Saturn
Jupiter in Leo forms a flowing connection to retrograde Saturn in Aries on the 29th, an alignment that only happens roughly once every eleven years. Because Saturn is retrograde, we'll actually get three hits of this over the coming months, which means opportunities to shift long-term goals and plans will keep resurfacing. It takes real effort to make the most of it (that's Saturn's job), but there's a hearty surge of fire, drive and ambition here. Expect a lot of talent and stamina in the air.
Venus also begins her pre-retrograde shadow in Libra on this day. Any relational themes that come up now are worth paying attention to, since they're likely to resurface again when Venus turns retrograde in October.
On the 31st of August, Mars in Cancer comes into some dynamic tension with Saturn in Aries, echoing friction many people felt in June 2025. While this may be a challenging time for some, remember the Jupiter-Saturn relationship is still active in the background, offering some support to lean on.
The next day, Mercury in Virgo joins the conversation with Mars in Cancer. Mercury brings grounding and logic into what could otherwise be an emotional, temperamental Mars energy. If a difficult conversation has been brewing, either with someone else or with yourself, this is a supportive day to have it. Try writing out what you actually want to say before you say it. Mercury's precision paired with Mars's drive means you're more likely to name the hard thing clearly instead of letting emotion run the show.
After that, things ease off for a stretch, the first real lull since the eclipse cycle began. Resist the urge to fill this space with more doing. Use these days to integrate everything the eclipses and the Saturn-Mars meeting have stirred up. A few practical ways to do this: revisit any notes or journal entries from the past fortnight and see what still feels true a week on, spend some proper time outdoors away from screens, or simply let your evenings be a little emptier than usual.
On the 7th of September, Venus in Libra flows with the North Node in Aquarius and also meets the South Node in Leo. This is a soothing, healing day for collective and relational harmony. It's a good day to reach out to someone you've been meaning to reconnect with, smooth over a minor tension before it grows, or simply spend time with people who make you feel good. If you've been holding onto a small grievance, this is the day to let it go.
On the 10th of September, Venus enters Scorpio. Expect relationships to move under the hood, getting into the nitty gritty of true intimacy. Conversations around money and shared resources could also arise, joint finances, what you owe each other, what you're really willing to share. This isn't a season for surface-level pleasantries in your closest relationships. If there's a deeper conversation you've been putting off with a partner, family member, or business partner, Venus in Scorpio gives you the push to have it. Go in with curiosity rather than a fixed agenda, and you'll get further.
New Moon in Virgo (11 September)
The first new moon since eclipse season began, loosely connecting to Mars in Cancer. It's earthy and grounded, with an intuitive intelligence running underneath the practicality. After a quiet week of integration, this is a good moment to ask what seeds you want to plant now. New moons in Virgo respond well to specifics, so rather than a vague intention, try writing down one or two concrete, doable habits or goals for the weeks ahead. Think in terms of routines you can actually keep, not lofty resolutions.
Mercury also moves into Libra today, smoothing and softening how we communicate. It's a lovely day to go and look at something beautiful, whether that's art, a film, or simply spending some time in nature. Pair your new moon intentions with something aesthetically nourishing today.
Mercurial Messages
From here, Mercury spends the rest of the season carrying messages from Libra.
On the 12th, it opposes Neptune in Aries while flowing to Pluto in Aquarius, raising questions about the deeper meaning behind whatever Neptune and Pluto have been discussing since late June. Communication can feel a little foggy or idealised on this day, so it's not the best day for contracts or firm decisions. Instead, let it be a day for big-picture reflection. Journalling or a long conversation about where things are really heading will serve you better than trying to pin down details.
On the 14th of September, Mars in Cancer links to the Sun in Virgo, in what could be a lovely combination where intuition and logic complement each other well. Mercury also trines Uranus in Gemini the same day. This is a good day to trust a gut feeling and act on it, especially if it's been backed up by something practical.
Venus in Scorpio squares off with Pluto in Aquarius on the 15th of September, which could bring tension around power dynamics in relationships. Watch for any urge to control an outcome or to give away more power than feels comfortable just to keep the peace. If jealousy, possessiveness, or control comes up, in you or in someone close to you, treat it as information rather than something to act on immediately.
On the 18th, Mercury opposes Saturn in Aries just as Chiron stations retrograde back into Aries, adding an old wound or vulnerability to whatever message is being exchanged. Conversations today may land more heavily than intended. If something someone says stings more than it should, it's worth asking what old story it's touching, rather than reacting purely to what was just said.
The season closes on the 21st of September with Mercury in Libra making a flowing but effortful link to Jupiter in Leo, sending an amplifying message of harmony, and giving Virgo season a generous send-off. It's a fitting day to notice what's shifted for you since the Sun first moved into Virgo a month ago, even if it's just a moment of acknowledgement. Virgo season rewards small, consistent effort, so give yourself credit for whatever you've followed through on.
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse Horoscopes
28th August, 4:18pm NZT
Read your rising/ascendant sign for the most accurate prediction.
At the top of last month's horoscopes, I described how eclipses have a reputation for sudden, destabilising change. But remember that nothing an eclipse brings is ever really out of the blue. It's more like a release valve. Whatever's been percolating in the background, perhaps a decision you've been avoiding, a truth you've half known, a situation that you’ve outgrown, the eclipse will support its release. So if things shift suddenly under this eclipse, look back over the last few months. You'll likely find the real story started well before this eclipse season.
Aries Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your twelfth house of rest, release, and the subconscious, so something usually kept private or below the surface gets briefly but powerfully illuminated, a hidden feeling, an exhaustion you've been ignoring, or a truth that surfaces. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your sixth house of work, health, and daily routine, so whatever surfaces may point directly at how sustainable your current pace actually is. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your fifth house of creativity, romance, and self-expression, so if something shifted there recently, this eclipse may show you what it's costing you day to day.
Taurus Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your eleventh house of friendships, community, and future hopes, so something in your social world or a group you belong to gets a sudden, temporary spotlight, a friendship that shifts, a hope that clarifies, a community dynamic that can't be ignored any longer. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your fifth house of creativity, romance, and self-expression, so whatever comes up may be tied to how freely you're actually expressing yourself within that social world. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your fourth house of home and family, so if something shifted at home recently, this eclipse may show you how it's rippling out into your friendships and future plans.
Gemini Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your tenth house of career and public reputation, so something professional or public gets a sudden, temporary spotlight, recognition, a reputation shift, a turning point in direction. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your fourth house of home and family, so whatever surfaces at work may be closely tied to what's happening at home, or to how well the two are actually balancing. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your third house of communication, learning, and your local environment, so a conversation or piece of news from a fortnight ago may turn out to be more significant to your career than it first seemed.
Cancer Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your ninth house of beliefs, travel, and higher learning, so something around what you believe, or where you're headed, gets a sudden, temporary spotlight. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your third house of communication and your local environment, so a conversation, a piece of information, or something close to home may be what triggers the bigger realisation. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your second house of money and self-worth, so if your relationship to your own value shifted recently, this eclipse may reveal how that ties into what you actually believe you deserve.
Leo Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your eighth house of intimacy, shared resources, and deep transformation, so something around closeness, trust, or shared finances gets a sudden, temporary spotlight. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your second house of money and self-worth, so whatever surfaces here may be closely tied to your own sense of value, financial or otherwise. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your first house of self and identity, so the personal reset that began a fortnight ago may now be tested, or deepened, through a close relationship or shared resource.
Virgo Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your seventh house of partnership, so something in a close one-on-one relationship gets a sudden, temporary spotlight, romantic, business, or otherwise. It's supporting the story of the sun, which is sitting right on your first house of self and identity this season, so whatever comes up in a relationship is likely to mirror something you're working through in yourself. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your twelfth house of rest, release, and the subconscious, so something that surfaced quietly a fortnight ago may now show up much more visibly, through someone else.
Libra Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your sixth house of work, health, and daily routine, so something about how your everyday life is structured gets a sudden, temporary spotlight, a job matter, a health issue, a routine that is demanding attention. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your twelfth house of rest, release, and the subconscious, so whatever surfaces in your daily life may really be pointing at how much you need to slow down. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your eleventh house of friendships, community, and future hopes, so a shift in your social world recently may now be showing up in how much energy you have for daily life.
Scorpio Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your fifth house of creativity, romance, and self-expression, so something here gets a sudden, temporary spotlight, a creative project, a romance, a matter involving a child. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your eleventh house of friendships, community, and future hopes, so whatever comes up personally may have a lot to do with how well you’re supported by the people and groups around you. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your tenth house of career and public reputation, so a professional shift a fortnight ago may now be asking something of your creative or personal life in return.
Sagittarius Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your fourth house of home and family, so something here gets a sudden, temporary spotlight, a move, a family matter, a shift in your sense of home. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your tenth house of career and public reputation, so whatever surfaces at home may be closely tied to the direction of your career or how visible you're currently being. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your ninth house of beliefs, travel, and higher learning, so a shift in what you believe or where you're headed recently may now be settling into something closer to home.
Capricorn Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your third house of communication, learning, and your local environment, so something here gets a sudden, temporary spotlight, a conversation, a piece of news, a shift in how you're getting your ideas across. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your ninth house of beliefs, travel, and higher learning, so whatever you hear or say may end up reshaping something you believed quite firmly. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your eighth house of intimacy, shared resources, and deep transformation, so a deeper shift a fortnight ago may now be finding its way into conversation.
Aquarius Rising
This full moon eclipse falls in your second house of money and self-worth, so something here gets a sudden, temporary spotlight, an income change, a spending shift, a recalibration of what you feel you're worth. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your eighth house of intimacy, shared resources, and deep transformation, so whatever comes up around money may be tangled up with someone else's resources or a deeper kind of closeness. This lands two weeks after the new moon eclipse in your seventh house of partnership, so a shift in a close relationship recently may now be showing up in a very practical, financial way.
Pisces Rising
This full moon eclipse falls right on your first house of self and identity, so this is a personal one, a sudden, temporary spotlight on who you are and how you're showing up. It's supporting the story of the sun, sitting opposite in your seventh house of partnership, so whatever shifts in you individually is likely to ripple out into a close relationship.
