It was an honour when our friend Becca Haeger asked us to remodel her most sentimental pieces of jewellery. To be trusted on this journey is so special to us and we wanted to share her story x
Can you tell us a little about the story behind your original jewellery?
The jewellery was a gift from my dad to my mum for their 20th wedding anniversary. The pieces were always special to her, she never took them off.
What made you decide to remodel your pieces?
When my mum passed away, these particular pieces of jewellery were passed down to me. For five years they stayed in my jewellery box. I loved them, but they felt too precious to wear. Remodelling them into something I could wear every day felt like the right way to honour her and keep her close.
How did you choose the designs?
I wanted something timeless, and something that suited my everyday style. I had a few ideas and references in mind, but working with Meadowlark really brought everything together. They helped figure out the best way to work with the original stones and create a set that felt cohesive, while still allowing each piece to stand on its own.
How was your experience going through the process with us?
Working with Meadowlark was such a meaningful experience. Claire and Greg were incredibly thoughtful throughout, and really honoured the original jewellery while helping me create something new. Finishing everything in time for my mum’s anniversary made it even more special. They understood that this was more than just a redesign and the whole process felt carefully considered.
Can you tell us about what the pieces mean to you now?
There was a little sadness at first, knowing how much my mum loved the original pieces. But whenever I wear them it feels comforting and they bring a sense of closeness that I carry with me each day. These are the most meaningful things I own, a little reminder of her. I love them! I’m sure she would too.
