At Meadowlark, we care about how our jewellery is being made and who is making it. From the beginning we have held importance in making to order, locally.
Meadowlark began with a jewellery bench in Claire and Greg’s bedroom where they would hand make every single piece to order. Almost 15 years later and these values still ring true.
Our aim has always been to create pieces that are meaningful and everlasting in both style and quality, that can be treasured for a lifetime and beyond, passed down through generations, holding sentimental value.
As Meadowlark grew, we needed our own team of jewellers to keep the dream alive and continue to produce beautiful pieces.
We now have a team of seven jewellers and two stone setters who are highly skilled and passionate in their work. Making to order allows us to support the New Zealand jewellery making industry by providing jobs to our amazing team.
Due to demand, there are a few styles we haven’t been able to make in New Zealand and we are currently working through traceability with this offshore supply. We believe being honest is more important than being perfect and we continually strive to offer you both accessible and traceable products where possible.

Why did you decide to become a jeweller/get into making jewellery?
I’ve always been drawn to jewellery (I think my mums influence) and love how jewellery are like wearable stories.
What do you like most about making jewellery?
There is something really therapeutic about working with your hands and focusing on what’s just in front of you.

I’ve really enjoyed the new range pieces which requires slow and steady filing but that’s all I can say!

Why did you decide to become a jeweller/get into making jewellery?
It was a natural progression from being the weird art kid in school, and a mag-pie.
What do you like most about making jewellery?
Getting lost in an art-zone flow, everything around you kind of falls away.

Why did you decide to become a jeweller/get into making jewellery?
During my time at university we took part in a jewellery workshop and it was at that point I fell in love with sitting at the bench being surrounded by hundreds of different tools. After that I spent every free moment I had learning how to make jewellery.
What do you like most about making jewellery?
Working with your hands instead of looking at screen seems like a pretty good deal these days

Why did you decide to become a jeweller/get into making jewellery? I have always loved jewellery and appreciated design, so the decision to delve further into it when the opportunity came up was a no-brainer for me.
What do you like most about making jewellery? The feeling of having made something beautiful from scratch, and also knowing you've made something that someone else is going to enjoy forever.
Favourite piece of Meadowlark you’ve made recently: That would have to be the Hex Engagement ring I made for my sister-in-law!
