In this guide you will find the meanings and provenance of each stone we offer.

We are proud to offer a selection of beautiful natural stones as well as some lab grown alternatives. Our goal is to use only responsibly sourced and fully traceable materials in our jewellery.

We will update this information as we phase in new options. Further reading about diamonds and our ceremonial selection are also available.

Our non reclaimed diamonds come from mixed sources, diamonds 5mm and over come with GIA certification.

A reclaimed or recycled diamond is a diamond that was once mined or used in another piece of jewellery, and is ready to be repurposed. While this makes traceability difficult, the benefit is these stones have a minimal environmental impact as we are making use of materials which are already in existence.

Our lab grown diamonds are grown in the USA, using clean & recyclable energy. They are certified 100% climate neutral and sustainably rated. Grown above ground, these lab grown diamonds mindfully minimise environmental damage and consumption of fossil fuels. Chemically and physically lab grown diamonds are identical to mined diamonds.

A high energy healing stone, the ruby has been associated with passion and prosperity. Also associated with beauty and wisdom. Ruby is traditionally given for the 15th and 40th wedding anniversaries.

Our rubies are sourced from Myanmar and cut at a facility in Thailand. Our supplier's US facility runs almost entirely on solar power and it has a Verified Vendors program to ensure the suppliers it sources from meet workplace and environmental standards.

We are currently working with our supplier to understand this supply chain in greater detail to ensure we are making the most ethical sourcing choice for these stones. Some of our designs still use stones from another supplier that we are working with on the traceability and supply chain of.

The brilliant blue sapphire imbues its wearer with hope and healing and boosts creative expression.

We source our large blue & green sapphires directly from a small mine in Queensland, Australia. The stones are cut at a facility in Thailand before they make their way to our Atelier. These stones are fully traceable and fairly traded right back to the mine, and our supplier is able to have a significant positive impact on the mining.

For our smaller (2mm and under) sapphires we have traced them back to their country of origin, and our suppliers have systems in place to ensure these gemstones are cut in facilities that meet its employment and health standards.

For other colours of sapphires, each one is sourced from different suppliers that have specific ethical provenance.
